In 1907, The Cincinnati Gear Company(CGCO) was founded by John Christensen & Soren J.Sorensen
Ten years later, CGCo co-founded the American Gear Manufacturers Association with intentions of developing all international gearing standards. Five individuals from CGCo have been elected as president of the AGMA including previous chairman, Walter Rye.

In 1936, CGCo began producing carburized, hardened, and ground gears.

In 1937, CGCo established the Cincinnati Steel Treating Company.

In 1956, CGCo began manufacturing epicyclic gears.

In 1972, CGCo established the Stoeckicht License Agreement with BHS.

In 1974, CGCo added an additional 45,000 sq. ft. Cincinnati plant.

In 1982, CGCo added an additional New Jersey plant.

In 1988, current chairman, Walter L. Rye purchased CGCo.

In 1992 CGCo added an additional Kentucky plant.

In 1995, CGCo expanded internationally by acquiring BHS in Sonthofen, Germany and we also received ISO 9001 certification.

In 2002, CGCo became Cininnati Gearing Systems.

In 2015, Cincinnati Gearing Systems purchased and installed three machines, hosted the Manufacturing Job Fair, received the 2015 Manny Award for employee growth in manufacturing and launched a new website.
