CGR has been repairing wind turbine gear boxes for over 25 years. We offer inspections of most wind turbine gearboxes in the tower. CGR has been successful in performing touch grinding of the various gear elements. Touch grinding only removes .005" from both tooth flanks and yields a reconditioned gear which can be reused. Note: this is not a new gear but one which can be used to return the gearbox to service for a price much less than replacing all of the gear elements with new hardware.
